As an affiliate marketer on the internet you may think that there is some mystery involved in why some people make money and others don’t. If you are constantly feeling frustrated because no matter how hard you try, you don’t seem to be getting anywhere, then you need to understand that you have failed to make money because you are not using the right technique.

What it comes down to is that those people who apply themselves to the techniques required to make money on the internet will earn an income and those who don’t apply themselves will not succeed.

1.  Look for a niche market that is lucrative. The product comes after you have found the right niche to market to.

2.  Search for an affiliate product that you think will be of value to people in your particular niche. Make sure that it is something that they will want to buy, something that will solve a problem for them that they may be experiencing.

3.  Set up a webpage that will deal with the problem they are experiencing and the ways in which your affiliate product can solve this difficulty for them. You need to drive home the benefits you can offer, in other words work on their emotions as generally people tend to purchase things from an emotional stand point.

4.  At this point you are not trying to sell the product, your main aim here is to offer a free report that will address the problems they are having and the solutions your product can give them. In order to access the report they will need to fill in an opt-in form with their name and email address. Don’t ask them for too much information as this will surely drive them away; just keep it to their name and email address which you will need in order to forward the report.

This information will be managed by your auto responder, which will direct the possible customers to a page where they can download the free report.

5.  This report should not only contain information about the topic of concern it will also need to include the links to your product sales page.
Keep in mind that the product that you are offering is the solution they require to the problem they are experiencing.

If you have done a good job of targeting your market and given them the information that they require and offered a product that could be the solution to sort out their problem then your conversion rates in all likelihood will be good based on the prospects who actually take the time to open and read the report.

6.  While you continue to promote your product through a couple of discrete links in the newsletters that your auto-responder sends out on your behalf on a regular basis, those people who signed up and never read the report will still have an opportunity to buy through the links you are sending. This works well as many people need to see something more than once before purchasing.

7.  Find new products and services to offer to your list and include information about them in your upcoming e-mail newsletters.

By giving you their name and e-mail address, visitors are basically giving you permission to send them information on a regular basis and this is known as a permission-based marketing strategy.

These articles are often picked up by other internet marketers who visit these directories in search of fresh content for their own websites or blogs.

3.  Offer to be a guest blogger on other peoples’ blogs if their niche market is the same as yours. Each time you post an article on their blog (only with their permission) you can include a blurb about yourself and a link back to your website or opt-in page.

4.  If you haven’t written your own e-book there are many PLR e-books available to buy with resale or giveaway rights. Write a review on the book and post it on your blog, with a link back to your opt-in page. Advertise it on your opt-in page where the visitor will have to give their name and e-mail address in order to receive the book.

5.  Join some traffic exchanges and make an eye catching squeeze page to use in order to promote your online income marketing business. This will have an opt-in link as well.

6. Add a free sample of your newsletter to your website. By doing this you are showing people that you have confidence in your product and it is an excellent way of encouraging them to sign up.

There are many other ways that you can promote your online opportunities and build a large permission based list of prospects, but one important point to remember is that the newsletter itself must be well written and packed with useful information if you want these prospects to believe in you and trust your judgment when you recommend products or goods that you want them to buy.

What it comes down to is that you will miss out on more and more of the offers that in actual fact you don’t need anyway, and once you have cleared your emails of those unnecessary distractions you will then have more time to focus on what you really need to do.

2.  Concentrate on One Step at a Time – in a Methodical Manner.

Once all those distractions have disappeared from your life, then concentrate on one step at a time and do not move on to the next one until you have mastered the one that you started with.

For example the first step would be to get your website set up. Once that is achieved then you need to move on to SEO (search engine optimization) and then traffic generation. By following this method step by step you will be going in the right direction. There is absolutely no point in starting with number 3 if number one and 2 have not been done, as it will get you nowhere fast. There is no point in being listed on thousands of websites if your website is not set up and ready to make sales.

Make sure that you do the steps required to be successful and do them in a logical and orderly manner, don’t hop from one step to the other in any order, they must follow on if you want your online business to succeed

3.  Once You Have Made a Decision then Follow it through to its Conclusion!

In other words, once you have your website set up and ready for business no matter what type of niche you have decided on, so long as it is something that people are searching for you will have a great chance of success.

So stop chasing all the online income opportunities that come your way, follow your original ideas and you will build successful and lucrative legitimate online businesses.
